In a new and exciting relationship. Things are going so well, that I am starting to wonder and worry when my terrible depression is going to ruin some aspect... sigh...

I?ve just started studying for my exams and as usual feel the stress and the panic of imminent failure gnawing at the pit of my stomach. It is like clockwork this desperate feeling that seems to put my flight or fight response into overdrive. My heart rate goes up, I can?t concentrate and I lose my appetite. I should be used to this by now (writing exams), but no amount of breathing exercises or visualisation techniques seems to help. Taking any type of drug just makes me feel sluggish and my brain foggy and slow. It is ridiculous, as I have more than four weeks to prepare. It has all been timetabled and worked out carefully on my study roster, yet here I am once again in a severe state of panic that has everybody around me confused and on walking on eggshells.

I was happy to read that the disorder is described as a "change in energy". This seems to be a more apt description for how it effects my being and my life, rather than the crude "mood swings" that always get thrown about in all discussions.
